God spilt his wine in the sky tonight,
The crystal broke off into shards,
liquor streaks the horizon tonight.
And the glass illuminates stars.
A child found daddies pistol tonight,
A trigger pulled back with her thumb,
Cacophony filled the air tonight,
As her blood drained out like rum.
My doctor resides on the streets tonight,
His nose brushed against a line.
Electric punch is his thirst tonight,
For his medication he is enshrined.
The angels are carving notches tonight,
They're changing silk sheets to their cloud.
Temptation will be a threshold tonight.
As lust is a protective shroud.
God spilt his wine in the sky tonight,
The crystal broke off into shards,
liquor streaks the horizon tonight.
And the glass illuminates stars.

footprints in a parking lot

sometimes I guess that's just how it goes
I left my heart on my bedside

with each slow step he seems to guide
me out of the dark and into his eyes

In these waves I keep
my thoughts, my dreams, my heart asleep
I need to believe that something extraordinary is possible
logic finds no other ways to make me responsible
when my calculations all answer to you

i am not afraid of death.
i did not want
the boy beneath the apple trees,
or the cherry petals
in the orchard, touched with invisible fingers
leaving brown indentations, bruised
with your inflection even on the brink of spring
not the one littered under the sunlit twigs
grappling for heaven
But the one lying exactly center field
staring straight at the sky--
waiting for a crash of thunder
for the paper flowers, metaphor for holding
over the sills of everything transient,
and left for erasing-- like a soul brimming
over the bridge of an emotion
strong enough to overcome itself.
brave boy with a thousand faces-- i see

Hurricane
I'm a hurricane,
A whirlwind of excitement and passion.
Yet once someone catches a glimpse of my center,
It's the start of the end.
I've left devastated dreams in my wake;
Hopes crumbled down to the foundations
& Lives irrevocably changed.
My name drips reverently from the lips those I've tormented.
The pain. The hopelessness. The loss.
I'm not proud of what I've done.
Drowning someone in love still causes asphyxiation.
I was enchanted by you from the moment we first spoke.
You burned my walls down to the ground in an explosion of brilliant light.
The flood of my emotions forced me downstream
& into your fiery embrace.
The pull, the stea

I enjoy the rhythm this piece has. The repeating of the first verse gives the poem a nice kind of finality and ending. The way religious aspects are woven in along with a kind of every day aspect makes it relatable on a number of levels as well.
